In Pisac, they were preparing to celebrate something and tying balloons and booze up above the streets - never found out what the occassion was.

My guide for the day - Jorge'. Super knowledgable guy. It was so great to have my own personal guide eachday. No group tours.

Ollantayambo ancient terraces. My altitude sickness was just finally starting to fade.
The walls of a 500 year old granary.
Most of the Incan ruins still have water running through the baths, fountains and water systems, exactly as the day they were used. Running water makes it feel alive.

The residents of Ollantayambo live in much of the original Inca stone walls and streets.

Jorge knew a family that lived in one of the oldest Inca houses, and got to visit. They raised Guinea Pigs, as most of the locals do, on the floor of one of the rooms. I tried guinea pig on the 13th, not yummy.

This family stays close to their ancestors. This is a great great great grandpa, grandma, and uncle.
i am going to eat you.
At the hotel Sol y Luna in Urubamba. Beautiful bungalows. Everywhere I stayed in Cusco and the Sacred Valley was swank. I told the agent that I wanted to spend a modest 100/night or so. I guess In Peru, 100/night goes a long way.
