At the ruins of Sacsuayhuomen, pronounced "sexy woman". These are the largest stones in any Incan ruins. Some over 200 tons each and all perfectly fit together. You can't fit a piece of paper between them.
Getting on the boat in Puerto Maldonado to go up the Madre Dios River to Sandoval Lake Lodge. The original idea was to go much further of the river to lodge on the border of Bolivia in a more remote area, but the wet changed those plans.

After getting to Aquas Caliente by train, now on the bus, switchbacking up to Machu Picchu.
gives you an idea of how narrow this valley is.
Insanely pretty, and lucky with the good weather for this time of year. Machu Picchu is a cload city, so when the weather is bad up there, which it often is this time of year, you can't see 10 feet.

A reconstructed part. How it originally looked before 700 years of rain melted the mud brick city. I was at the "blah blah blah my trip is over" stage today. Just wanted to get back and see my kids.

Ollantayambo ancient terraces. My altitude sickness was just finally starting to fade.
much of the structure looks more like organic sculpture than architecture. The Inca made love to rock.
